A medium early ripening variety suitable for the production of quality varietal wines. Noiret produces a distinctive red wine with notes of green and black pepper along with raspberry, blackberry and mint aroma. The main characteristic of this variety is a fine tannin structure. Noiret represents a significant improvement in the possibilities of red wine production using resistant varieties available to growers. The wines are free from hybrid off-flavors that are typical of many older hybrid varieties.
